Relatives of ours had taken this Rhine River cruise and raved about it. Having done it ourselves now, we agree.

My wife and I have done 9 ocean cruises and now one river cruise. This one rates right at the top. The ship was cozy and comfortable, with a good restaurant, bar and top deck for observations. The crew was fantastic - not just competent at their jobs, but genuinely friendly with the passengers.

The stops along the Rhine mixed amazing history (from Roman to WWII), beautiful vistas, amazing cities, good food, wine and German beer. Highlights included the Van Gogh Museum, a canals dinner cruise, and the Red Light district in Amsterdam; working windmills in Holland; going through locks on the Rhine; Cologne Cathedral; Marksburg Cathedral; Heidelberg Castle, and Strasbourg, France. Particularly interesting was a visit to the Colmar Pocket, which both visited sites of key WWII battles and also included French wine country and a wine-tasting!
