We had a great first day when we embarked onto the Carnival Valor. The front desk at the port was more than helpful when we needed to change around some stuff before we boarded. The rest of the day went well. Most of our crew had been on a cruise before except four of us. This was their first time. They had nothing to compare to, we did. The dinning room food was ok could have been better. Our waiter was good but was not one of those over the top waiters that makes your dinning room experience one you can not forget. So that was a let down. That night we went back to our rooms and found our towel animal greeting us as we entered. The stewards were OUTSTANDING, probably the best thing out of the whole cruise. We had many problems with the inside staterooms. Let me just say that I do not reccomend a inside stateroom, the outside rooms are well worth the money. My brothers room had many of the problems. One problem was that every day there was a high volume paint smell in their room so stong it would make you sick. Then there shower back flowed. This boat must have a major pluming and sewer problems because you could smell sewer all throughout the ship all the time. Another problem in both of our inside rooms was that you couldnt sleep well with the stewards slamming the doors and dropping stuff in the crew only rooms. It was very disappointing. Room service was very good and on time all week. The activities were very weak on this ship. Yes their was a lot to do but on the list of activities most of it was stores opening or the casino opening or music. CARNIVAL NEEDS HELP WITH THE ACTIVITIES!!!! Late night shows were good but could be better. Food is a BIG thing to me and that was a bummer on this cruise. Rosies buffet needs help ..... A good "Fruit Selection" is not cantaloupe and honeydew. They never had anything else. Also It was always the same stuff about every day unless you went to the small one that changed. Drunks, Drunks, Drunks!!! They are known on this boat and made it very uncomfortable. We were in the hot tub and these four ladies came and threw our stuff on the ground and sat at the table our stuff was at. Now you must know that there were over 70 other tables available due to it being 10 at night. They were very rude and security did nothing about obnoxious people. If I wanted this I could have gone to a bar. So near the end of the cruise we were n the shops buying shirts and the I was going to go get a invoice of what I owed. When we finished we went to the Guest services desk and asked for an invoice, the printed one and I walked away. AS I looked at the sheet I saw a $40.00 charge that was just made, saying taht I just played BINGO. Now this could have never happened becasue teh time was the same as the purchase in the shops. So I asked them to check on it and refund it. All they had to do it check the signature on the reciept and see it was not mine. This was 3 days before the cruise ended. I went back 2 times a day till the end. The last night I went up and asked what they were planning on doing seeing that we will be back in port the next day. They said it would be refunded not to worry. No I am at Home it was not refunded and I am having ahell of a battle with Carnival. They are not very considerite at all. I mean I know it is only $40.00 but it is about the way it is handled.I WILL NOT CRUISE CARNIVAL AGAIN. I AM A LOVER OF ROYAL CARRIBEAN!!!!
