The choice of cruise line was based on my excellent experiences on the Grand European river cruise and a continued interest in visiting the Baltic region. This was my first sea cruise although I had visited the Baltic in the eighties onboard a Canadian Navy ship - a lot had changed since then!

The trip included many interesting tours that were characterised by first rate knowledgeable guides and very interesting venues. Although one could easily visit many of the sites in the various ports on your own, the insights provided by the local guides provided another not to be missed layer to my understanding. I particularly appreciated the ability to examine and chose optional tours prior to the trip. Highlights of this trip were: for scenery and nature: Flam Norway; for history/culture: St Petersburg although the other ports were only a little less awe-inspiring. The administration of the package of tours was well done and it was easy to add on or modify during the trip within the very reasonable time limits imposed for scheduling/booking purposes.

The service and facilities on board were first rate and highlighted by an enthusiastic, friendly and conscientious staff. Due to some scheduling difficulties (mostly on my part) I did not use the Chefs Table or Manfredi's. I highly recommend "The Restaurant" for an excellent evening meal with first rate service that was attentive but not over-bearing. Mamsen's and the World Café are excellent choices for other meals. The choices and quality of food and service made dining in all three of these restaurants a veritable pleasure.

Cabin Review

Cabin Deluxe Veranda

Well appointed cabin with a first rate steward taking excellent care of you and your cabin. The washroom facilities are of particularly high standard with a well thought out layout.
