This was our first Viking River Cruise. The service was excellent and the food was always very good, if not delicious. The maitre d went out of his way to accommodate my husband's complex eating habits. Our host for the cruise, Lionel, was superb. He is as charming, informative and entertaining as a person could possibly be. It is worth booking a cruise with Lionel just for the joy of his company. The excursion guides were likewise often excellent and at worst, very good. We extended in Paris for 3 days and Viking took good care of our restaurant reservations in Paris and made the airport/VAT experience as painless as it can be. My only complaint is that embarkation/debarkation from Le Pecq is not great but it barely detracted from the overall experience. We wouldn't hesitate, and indeed intend to take another Viking River or Ocean Cruise in the future. Bravo Viking!
