My wife and I have always wanted to visit the Balkan region and we had traveled on Viking River Cruises before so we wanted to experience their Ocean/Sea itineraries and the larger vessels.

The ship was magnificent! As far as cruise ships are concerned, we really liked the fact that Viking ships are smaller in comparison than other ocean type vessels. Only 930 passengers. Perfect for what we wanted. The smaller cruise ships lack some of the amenities of larger ships such as a casino and multiple theaters but this not distract from our trip at all.

We embarked from Venice and visited Pula and Dubrovnik Croatia, Kotor Montenegro, Athens Greece, the greek island of Santorini and Ephesus Turkey.
