This was my first experience on any type of cruise ship. I wanted to see the cities along the Danube this cruise included on the route. Viking created a wonderful experience from the time spent in Prague until it ended in Budapest! There were Viking staff along every leg of this trip to help make the experience very memorable. From the time we got off the plane in Prague til we got to security at the Budapest airport the entire staff on this ship was fabulous, welcoming and knowledgable about the ship and areas we were visiting! The wait staff was very attentive to the people at their tables especially when one sat in the same waiters area for the whole trip. Housekeeping paid attention to every little detail.

The tours of the cities we stopped in were great and very well organized. The guides were locals, knew their hometowns very well and could impart a lot of information, useful and fun facts about each of the towns and cities we stopped in along the route.

The customer service on the Egil and the company of Viking were unparalleled!

Nuremberg was very interesting. The tour of the city was a very good overview of the history of Nuremberg

This tour was high on my list of the cities we visited. The guide was fabulous!! He had great stories to tell about the city.

Walking Tour

All the walking tours were great! I can not say which one was the best because they were ALL great. Some of the guides were better than others but all were very knowledgable and some more entertaining than others.

Walking Tour

In Vienna we did the walking tour which once again was a fabulous introduction to the city. We then stayed in the city and had coffee at Demel's and took in the flavor of Vienna. We walked through the Naschmarkt and took in scents of all the spices and different foods from all over the world

We then booked our own tour for the Lipizzaner stables. This was very interesting to learn about the horses. I highly recommend this tour.

Durnstein (Krems)

The ship had moved to Krems while we were at the monastery. There was no tour of Krems. It was at the eastern edge of the Wachau Valley which we cruised through during the day. Very beautiful.
