The choice of optional and regular excurisions were not as great as other cruises we have been on. Otherwise, the ship was great, service was great and the food was good. It seemed to me that Viking wanted to put a river boat on the Rhone river and then tried to come up with things to show their passengers. Some of the tours were too long. Some were too boring others were very good. The tour that sticks out in my memory is when we went to tour the Papal Palace. That was interesting and about the right length of time. The first day we went to an abbey. That tour was long and then we were given too much free time with noghting to do. It was a long day and we had to drive all the waay back to Lyon. We were beat by the time we returned to the ship.
