We selected this cruise as we had sailed with Norwegian before and enjoyed the experience. Also we were keen to leave from Venice and the other ports were of interest. However we were very disappointed in the cleanliness of the cabin and the fact that it seemed in need of a refurbish. We had a balcony cabin on the 11th floor but the balcony was very small compared to other ships and the toilet decidedly in need of a good clean. During our cruise we had several small niggles with broken furniture, the toilet not flushing one morning and the shower failing to drain, My partner had to fix this himself to stop it flooding cabin and found a paperclip stuck in the plug hole. The soft furnishings were worn and had holes and the entre cabin was in need of a facelift. We were also a little disappointed in the limited dining options if you wished to dine a little later- was mainly confined to a fish and chip shop after 10.00pm and the entertainment was not as varied as other cruise lines and other NCL ships. I appreciate that the Spirit is a smaller ship but this should not affect the cleanliness and upkeep of the cabin.

Port Reviews

Dubrovnik

Excellent port and easy to explore on own

Athens (Piraeus)

Picked up our own guide and had a very informative tour of Athens and Pireaus. Much cheaper than the organised ship excursions

Venice

Loved Venice and did our own sightseeing

Kotor

Once again lovely port and easy to find way about

Mykonos

Idyllic port and easy to walk around on own. Quaint cobbled streets and white and blue houses.

Toulon

Disembarked on our own. No problem finding way about town. Took a ride on the little train but apart from this not much else to see.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

As we have been to Rome before we decided to stay on board and have a rest.
