Just returned, 24/09/16 to 01/10/16 from our Mediterranean cruise aboard 'Tui Discovery', Thomson's latest cruise liner acquisition, flew to Palma De Mallorca, where we embarked our ship, embarkation was fairly smooth although we did arrive at the ship's gangway without our passes being validated, though this was a simple process it did mean returning through the queue we had just vacated, it may be worth mentioning at this stage that 'Tui' runs a cashless ship system and that the ship's currency is in : GBP Pounds Stirling, although we had time to explore the departure city, [midnight sailing] we chose instead to explore the ship, our cabin N0.2577 Deck 2 nicely fitted out, plenty of storage for 2 people, complete with hairdryer, kettle, television, safe, and daily supply of tea bags, milk, and coffee, only downside really the shower cubicle could have been a little larger and a fridge would have been nice, however we felt the cabin adequate for our needs.

The ship has a modern design and decoration throughout, floors and carpets are spotless, however the first one thing you notice is how friendly the ship's crew and staff are at any time of day, the ship itself has many bars and restaurants, with the later almost in double figures, 2 of them incur a small surcharge, though all serve the most superb food dishes, our favorites were the Island restaurant, self-service with so much choice, 47 degrees, and 47 gallery, for the wife and I the food and service was 10/10.

Entertainment another 10/10, different themes every night with 2 shows, and a weekly guest comedian, in our case 'Andre' who was excellent throughout his 2 shows, and not one swear word, highlight for me was Wednesday when they had a legends theme, they played David Bowie's 'Space Odyssey' with spacemen coming up through the stage floor, and the pyrotechnics bellowing out everywhere, brilliant, fantastic tribute.

Cabin Review

Cabin economy

Adequate for our needs, plenty of storage space, well fitted out, lacked a fridge, very comfortable, really it was just a place to sleep, etc.
