The first time on Viking and wanted to vacation on their new ships. The intended itinerary should have ended in Istanbul but with the Turkish troubles was revised to Athens but no big issue as not been there before.

The ship was excellent in all respects and probably the best cruise we have ever been on. Rooms all had balconies and larger than most other cruise lines, the food was exceptional, entertainment very good but as the passenger complement was just under 1000 not as extensive as the much larger ships but that suited us fine. The layout was very good and decorations clean, tidy and a bit minimalist which was good. One large restaurant and no set time for dinner so very flexible, you could mix with other passengers of be by your self. Prices a bit more than equivalent larger ship lines but included are guided tours at each port, wine and beer included for lunch and dinner (all good quality) so if you factor that in then not over expensive. Will certainly try the Viking river cruises based on this experience.

Cabin Review

Cabin delux veranda

very well appointed, plenty of space, large bathroom, fridge replenished every day with soft drinks, USB sockets and large flat screen TV with plenty of channels.
