Embarkation and disembarkation was effortless.

Choose this cruise because it went to many ports/countries that I have not been to. Despite the title of this cruise, Voyage of the Vikings, it really did not emphasize the Vikings very much. Some of the ports were not worth going to, e.g. Red Bay, Labrador, Canada, but overall a very enjoyable cruise. I liked that we were never at sea for more than 2 days at a time.

One excursion "A day in Irsh Life" was probably one of the best we have ever taken. It was expensive but really enjoyed our day on the farm. We were not rushed around and could enjoy ourselves in a relaxing venue.

Vista Suite

Cabin BB

Lack of electrical outlets was annoying, but I have gotten use to that on most ships.

The binoculars provided with the room are very good, better than the ones I brought.

Port Reviews

Bar Harbor

Bar Harbor itself is just a tourist trap, but the Arcadia park is worth seeing. Unfortunately in the summer it is very crowded.

Alesund

Cruise into Alesund through the fjord was nice. Easy walking distance to town. Town has a lot of good architecture.

Eidfjord

Cruise into town was beautiful. Dock right in the town center. Unfortunately not a lot to see in the town.

Rotterdam

Using public transportation made getting around easy. Be sure to see the market, cube houses and the old harbor. All of them are in the same area.

Port Douglas, Australia

Easy walking distance into town. Don;t expect to see Manx cats, unless you go into the country side.

Belfast

Easy walk into town.

Sydney (Nova Scotia)

Took a walking tour around town. No excursion needed.

St. John's (Newfoundland)

Docked right in the city center.

Akureyri

Watch for whales when coming in and leaving.
