I read several reviews prior to booking my cruise on NCL Breakaway. Needless to say, I had a great time. We experienced a minor issue like the TV in the room not working, but one phone call to guest services resolved that issue. For the most part the crew were very attentive and entertaining. The cruise director Dan Dan was awesome! He was very involved and entertaining and visible. Oh, and very talented as well!. If I had anything negative to say, I don't think some of the bar staff were very happy. And being a non-smoker, having the smoking room adjacent to the pool was a big turnoff. It should have been located somewhere else on the ship so as not to interfere with someone's good time. Overall--good time! I wouldn't hesitate to book on the Breakaway. Not sure if I would do the drink package the next time. We drank like fish for the first few days and then spent almost 2 full days off the ship and then by the last few days we didn't feel like drinking so I would take that into consideration. Our cabine steward was great. Always smiling and truly enjoying what he was doing. The shore excursions were a lot of fun, too. Overall food was good. If you go hungry it's your own fault..lol. Take advantage of any CruiseNext promotions. The give back paid for all of our onboard charges and shore excusions. Great value/great deal. Can't wait to take our next cruise with NCL.
