I flew into Seattle on Wednesday with my 16 year old son. I was with a group of cross stitches. Spent Wednesday evening at the Chihuly museum, it was nice. I had seen some of his works in my home state. We ate at a local restaurant, 5 Point Cafe, open 24hours. Good food. Thursday we rode the monorail and then the light rail to Pike's Market. You could spend days here and never see everything. Did see the flying fish, big piggy bank, and the awesome flower stands. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express , Aurora Ave N, it is very close to Space Needle.
Friday time to head to the ship, embarked went went smoothly, FYI if you want a lanyard I suggest you buy it at the stand, just before you get on the ship. They had a big selection. We got there about 12:20 and did not really wait much at any point getting on the ship. We did head right to the room and dropped off our carry on and headed to the Windjammer for lunch. This is the one place that I would not give high marks. The food was not as good as I expected. I will give you a hint, always walk all the way around the food lines before choosing what to eat. There are 3 bars for food in the back, one a fruit station, one for desserts. My complaint was that some of the food choices didn't seem to go together.
I ate dinner in the main dining room every night and was very pleased with the food. You got plenty, one night I ordered two appetizers plus my main dish and dessert. Loved the duck, lamb, lobster, roast beef. If you want to know what is for dinner, there is a touch screen in the lobby area of the dining room and shows the menus for supper.
