Voyager of the Seas Cruise Review by dwindell1
- Sail Date: September 2016
- Destination: Asia
The food was cheap and nasty in the Windjammer, inferior compared to other ships we've sailed on. Diners in the Windjammer were constantly bombarded with loud intrusive and aggressive "music" more conducive to a disco than for relaxing eating and mainly intended for the crew. The feeling was eat and get out as quickly as you can!
The Sapphire Restaurant menu was limited and disappointing compared to other ships. We were charged for 2 bottles of wine which we didn't have - no apology only "we will adjust your account". Our fellow diner was also charged for 1 extra bottle of wine.
Fridge in our Junior Suite (which was lovely and spacious) didn't work even though it was running and we did complain. Our milk went sour overnight, our bottles of water and wine remained warm.
Sadly the entertainment was also mediocre. The one group called "black Tie" were an embarrassment and more suited to entertain in retirement villages for free . Then again maybe Royal Caribbean got them for a steal .
The service from the staff was excellent , always congenial and service with a smile . Our suite was spacious, comfortable and practically sound proof , which made it possible to get out of the mayhem on the rest of the ship .
Earlier this year we enjoyed a cruise on the Independence of the Seas from Fort Lauderdale which is practically the same ship. Maybe sailing out of Hong Kong is not the way to go. Voyager certainly displayed remarkable inferior differences .
