We chose Thomson Dream because it was going to the area we wanted and we had already travelled on the smaller ships Celebration twice and Majesty once. Dream has undergone refurbishment and the scale of the ship was good with three sets of stairways between decks, all the lifts operated except one and I imagine they keep one available for transport of furniture and equipment for maintenance. We took a wrong turn one day ending in a basement area where they were steam cleaning a sofa, to be lauded. The staff were courteous, cheerful and helpful. The food was of good quality and sometimes the quantity at the 'main' of the four course inclusive evening meal in the Orion was a little too much e.g the serving of roast tuna. We ate there most evenings, men wore shirt and long trousers and ladies wore skirts, slacks, nice tops or day dresses, (except the captain's dinner when men wore dinner jackets,or suits and ties, or sports jackets and ties and long sleeve shirt, some didn't wear the jackets just long sleeve shirts and ties, ladies as far as I could see wore cocktail type outfits either dresses, suits or trousers with fancy tops. El Capitaine Richard Watkins was his usual warm, welcoming and sociable self, his new word of 'negatory' used when asked if the entertainment troupe had followed him from his previous ship! He is a great character). He used the ships tannoy to give us news of arrival and departure from ports and when there were particular issues with regard to ports or the ship, that we needed to be made aware of, including temperature outside in port and the speed of the ship. Singer Ben Moss needs a larger venue due to lack of seating, entertainment troupe fab. Learned line dancing one day, lots of activities on ship. Would have liked an evening film show in between events. The later you leave the facial in the trip the cheaper it shall be.

Cabin Review

Cabin External Plus

A very good size cabin, plenty of room for everything, having the settee was a boon to sit comfortably watching TV etc. The air conditioning was not adjustable in the cabin but services on reception quickly adjusted that for us. The safe seems to operate better on two digits than four and even then tricky as the numbers have to be put in quickly and at the right pressure or you end up putting in repeated digits. Great to have a view of port most days from the one way glass window. Our Cabin Steward Dede was exceedingly attentive, warm and helpful, regularly asking if we required anything, offering his assistance.

Port Reviews

Corfu

As this was the port we arrived at by plane to board ship we had little time to see Corfu, though we did not have to wait long to be boarded.
