Aloha, Hope everyone made it home OK. We arrived safely and spent today sleeping, that's probably why I am up at 2:48am writing this review. Nancy I was glad to read yours, we had a nice time and really enjoyed all the flamingos. Sorry we missed you at the hotel, we saw everyone else, we owe you cocktails.

Alright here is our review, If you are looking to sail in Hawaii on a first class ship, look elsewhere. Unfortunetly we did not have the great service that Nancy wrote about, we traveled as a family, 2 boys ages 11, 10, and a girl age 9, my husband and myself. Having cruised with NCL 4 times in the past we were expecting the same great treatment, it never materialized. We did keep open minds however and here is a little of what we experienced; LONG LINES for everything. Food was so-so and service that was well below par. The two meals we really enjoyed were the ones we paid for, one at Pacific Heights and the other at the Bistro.

Our anniversary dinner was a disaster. We went to the Captain's Cocktail party and then to the Bistro. We sat down at 7:05pm and were asked if we had plans later in the evening. We told them "yes, we needed to be out by 9:00pm", and we were told, "No Problem." We settled in and ordered a bottle of wine, no rolls or butter ever appeared. Then we ordered dinner and commented on the rolls and someone came by and dropped off a small basket of stale rolls and frozen butter, no problem we are having a nice dinner. After a twenty minute wait our starters arrived.They were delicious and we ate them up, waiting another twenty minutes we finally were served our soup, keeping in mind that this was a maiden voyage and things take longer (Open Mind). We sat and we waited, taking stock that the room was almost empty. We could not figure what was wrong. We finally flagged down a passing waiter and asked about our salads (which listed in the menu, are supposed to be tossed at tableside). He looked puzzled and said he would send our waiter causing more time to pass. We finally had the hostess appear and leave the salads, but never take the soup plates. At this point we were looking at 8:50pm and still had not been served dinner. We finished our salad and i was in tears, as i said this was our 18th wedding Anniversary and I expected a nice romantic dinner with my hubby. As we were leaving the restaurant the Head Waiter came after us and expressed his apologies that the service was so slow, he said he was watching our table and knew it was taking a long time. When i asked him if he knew there was a problem why did he not correct it? He had no answer. Read more
