We are in our early 50's and have sailed on Carnival several times. I enjoy the entertainment, trivia, and comedy shows. But I have noticed over the years that the food quality and variety has declined. The buffet on the Lido looked the same almost everyday . . . always baked fish, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, the exact same salads and fixing everyday even for dinner. etc.
But the Taco/Burrito station by the pool and Mongolian Wok station were a good option.
For the main dining room the quantity and quality were less than expected. I ordered grilled shrimp, the entire entree was 4 shrimp! Many of the entrees were smaller in size than expected. So I soon learned to order 2 appetizers that way I was sure to be full by the end of the meal. The prime rib and beef wellington were excellent and very tasty. the desserts were a dissappointment. They all looked very good, but they evidently dont believe in using SUGAR, because 90% were not even the slightest bit sweet.
Always clean and towel animals were adorable! The only thing I would change is that all rooms on this ship do not have a refrigerator. If that is important find out before you book a room. The only other comment is that we did not have a chair or a couch in the room. They only gave us a short stool. So if you wanted to watch TV you could only lie in bed.
Be prepared for terrible traffic. It takes at least 1 hour 45 minutes from JFK to cruise port
Took shuttle into town and did a self guided walking tour. Very nice and lots to see
Nice relaxing day just walking around. Close to ship.
Modern and very nice port. Just walked around, make sure to tour the gardens, they are free and so pretty. A good walk, but lots of shops
