This is my 3rd Carnival cruise. Possibly, the last. I have cruised with NCL 6 times prior. The reviews on the ship were spot on. It is in need of updates and repairs. Let's begin with embarkation, long lines, longer then ever witnessed before. The actual theme of the ship is art. This is actually very beautifully executed throughout. The ship was, I am sure, a beauty in its day. The muster drill was the worst ever. Made you stand in baking heat 95 degrees for over 40 hours, showed you nothing.
Our room, 6264 was big enough for 3 of us ladies. The balcony was nice but the windows on the whole ship were filthy, ours were no exception. The bathroom is very small. There was never cold water coming from the tap. Our room steward, Made' was awesome. We always left him notes and tips daily and he was attentive. Almost too attentive, my nightwear was laid out nightly (weird).
Around the ship there were plenty of lounges to sit in sun. Big sales on the ship in the shops seem to have been stopped. Usual pool side shows. We found the entertainment to be exceptional on this ship. Don't miss the comics or the dance shows!
No cold water in sink. Shower small. You will get your bathroom wet with every shower. Steward, Made' excellent. Balcony ok but needed a good cleaning. There is enough closet space but ask early for more hangers.
Tenders could not accommodate for an hour, Seas were too rough. Waited in hallway in heat for over an hour.
Did our own thing. Beach chairs are free. Nice shops. Beautiful island. Get a pina colada at Margaritaville, yummy! Rental for umbrella is not free, $10.
Nice tour and experience. Take the tour of the downtown area and beach. We enjoyed this. Lunch included. Bring cash!!!
We rented a car and toured around Lauderdale before out plane left.
