This is about my 15th trip with Princess and I stick with them because of their rewards program (generous) and their itineraries go where I want. The staff is usually very good and I like the large variety of food and times. The age group is usually one that is similar to me (55-70). I have been on other lines over the years but always come back to Princess....I fell they have a medium price. I am not overly picky about things that I read on some blogs.. I just returned from this unusual itinerary: Southamption, Rotterdam, Bergen & Flam, Norway, the Shetland Islands, and 3 stopes in Iceland, followed by TA crossing to Boston and finally disembarked in NYC.

The North Atlantic was a little rough especially if not a long time cruiser.

Due to this the tender port in the Shetlands had to be omitted in favor of safety and personally I could have skipped Boston. However the ship was about a 1/3 North American, 1/3Aussi, and 1/3 others with a number from the UK and the far East. Because of the unusual itinerary about 1/3 very veteran cruisers with Princess (over 900 had sailed more than 12 times or so with them.) I love talking to and hearing the opinion of others on all kinds of subjects. Princess always seems to have a very friendly group not only of staff but also passengers. Some of the entertainment was first rate....the shore excursions were very interesting and fairly priced.

Cabin Review

Cabin OC

I normally have a balcony but figured I wan't going to be using it this far North where the average temperature at this time of year was 50. I was solo on a window was more than enough and the mirror let me look out on the sea without getting up to look out. If two people it would be crowded.

I also chose the lowest level mid ship (floor 5) because I knew it might be very rough which it was for a few days. Down a dead end hall that was just a few hundred yards from the atrium and the international cafe. Very quite.

Port Reviews

Rotterdam

I did my own by taking the fast train to Amsterdam, taking a museum tour and canal cruise with Viator. This very interesting and prearranged on the internet. I had been in both cities previously. I spoke to a number of locals and their help and English was perfect
