Norwegian Pearl Cruise Review by budhakitty
- Sail Date: September 2016
- Destination: Alaska
Embarkation was smooth and easy. From the time we entered the port to the time was got on the ship was probably a total of 20 minutes.
We really enjoyed the specialty dining. We ate at Teppanyaki's, Cagney's, Moderno, and La Cucina. All were incredible! The filet mignon served at Teppanyaki's was simply the best and my favorite item served. My husband loved his filet mignon at Cagney's. We greatly recommend all four restaurants. The main dining room and the buffet were great as well. We love that the dress codes in the restaurants are more relaxed and allow jeans (minus the main dining room), which is one of the main reasons we love NCL! We had breakfast in the main dining room each morning. Simply wonderful with incredible customer service! I looked forward to every day!
As for entertainment, we loved the comedian on board. We loved how he interacted with the audience. We really enjoyed how accessible he was to the cruise passengers, even in-between shows. He was great and a highlight of our experience on-board!
The customer service on board was just incredible. Our cabin steward and our breakfast servers really topped off our trip. One experience that we had on the NCL Pearl that we have not experienced on any other cruise line was that the Cruise Director and Hotel Director offered to meet with the our Cruise Critic Meet and Greet group to receive post-cruise feedback. On our last cruise day, the Hotel Director, the Cruise Director and their staff met with us to listen to our feedback about our cruise experience. They took notes, explained elements they can change and ones they couldn't. They were very receptive of feedback. It was such a positive experience. We ran into the Hotel Director and Cruise Director later at dinner and chatted with them for a while. We told them that we hope that they continue to implement the feedback forum.
The ports were cool. We enjoyed walking through the towns. We went off the beaten path and walked through the non-tourist parts of town to see a more realistic Alaska. We walked 33,000 steps on Juneau day! The best part was cruising through Glacier Bay. NCL brought a Park Ranger on-board to narrate our views. We sat cozy inside at the Spinnaker Lounge during Glacier Bay day, where NCL served coffee, cocoa, muffins, and pastries in the morning. At lunch time, they served salmon chowder and chicken salad sandwiches. It was a great day!
Overall, great cruise and HIGHLY recommended!!

JuneauOur port was quite a distance from town. It was cool walking through Juneau and going to the Governor's Mansion.View All 1,527 Juneau Cruise Port Reviews
