I decided to sail on the Norwegian escape because it was their newest and biggest ship, and thought it would be an exceptional cruise, based on my past experience with sailing on Norwegian's Epic ship. I was wrong! Don't get me wrong the ship is pretty amazing and the staff are wonderful, however the food is not good at all. I was very disappointed in the quality and preparation of the food. I thought that maybe it was just me until I began asking other quest about their experience with the food, and the responses that I received from other quest mirrored my experience. The soft serve ice cream in the machines was very soft and not good. On more than one occasion you would find were people just left their cone and soft serve ice cream right there in the bowl on the machine because it was to soft to eat. I started to feel that Norwegian by design would make the food not so good so that you would spend money in their specialty restaurants, based on a comment by one of the staff, asking if we had tried any of the speciality restaurants. I decided to have breakfast one morning in the Savor restaurant. I only ordered pancakes and coffee. The coffee was good but they brought me three stale cold pancakes stacked on top of each other with a little powdered sugar on top with a sliced strawberry. I am not exaggerating they were stale and cold and the same pancakes that were being served up stairs in the buffet. After taking one bite, I left the food on the table and got up and walked out. After the first 3 nights of trying to find a restaurant were the food was enjoyable we just gave up and decided to just settle on the fact that we would not have good food choices to choose from on this cruise and with hesitation ate at eithr the buffet or O'Sheehans for the remainder of the cruise. On a different note the ship is beautiful, and the staff are pretty awesome.
