We wanted to try out a very large cruise ship. We are experienced cruisers, our favorite cruise lines being Celebrity and Holland America. I previously took one cruise on a royal Caribbean, the Mariner of the Seas. Unfortunately, this was spring break and I DO NOT recommend that any two reasonable adults book during spring break! So we wanted to try to very largest ship, so we booked, a little apprehensively, a week in the Caribbean on the Oasis of the Seas. I must say we were pleasantly surprised with this cruise. The embarkation was quite prompt, especially considering boarding over 5000 guests. We had an oceanview balcony, and we were pleased with the cabin. After boarding, we signed up for a 3 nite package of specialty dining on the Central Park deck. After a really wonderful meal the first night, we extended the package to 5 nights. All were great food and great service in smaller restaurant atmosphere...coundn't have been much better.

The entertainment offered was by far the best of any ship we've sailed on. From a full length versions of CATS to a wonderful swimming and diving show to a great ice skating show, we gave entertainment high ranks. We mostly avoided the very large upper deck main food line by eating at various specialty places for breakfast and dinner. There was a large line upstairs, but it was easy to find alternatives. I credit the designers of this ship for finding ways to divide up 5000 people. there were enough differently located public areas...central park, deck 6 aft (with the merry-go-round), the shipping mall, etc, that no one area every seemed overcrowded. Overall, it was a great cruise, and blotted out my bad memories of Spring Break on the Mariner of the Seas. We may go again. Our next cruise is back with Holland American on a 28 day cruise through many southeast Asian ports which we are looking forward to.

No complaints. Nice cabin, balcony was a bit smaller that we are used to, otherwise great.
