Pros: We were treated very well by most employees and overall service was far superior than all other cruises we have done. The rooms were huge and very nicely appointed compared to ALL other cruises. Inside room with virtual window and animation was a lot of fun to watch. The phone app was great to refer to, but not everything was found in the app. Shows were as good or better than Broadway and highest caliber of talent. Food was some of the best I have had on a cruise. 2 servers for our table and never did we have to wait to get waiters attention. Character meetings are plentiful and quite short lines compared to the park. Not all Princesses are available, but at least 6 of them were easy to meet. Most of the lifeguards were professional and spoke with those kids whose parents were not watching them (we did have fault with one lifeguard before my husband pointed out that he was not correctly viewing the situation). Bartenders were quick and never did we have to wait as there were no lines (unlike every other cruise). Ship is very clean! There was something for everyone from 3 months to 100 years old. Wide selection of beers compared to other cruise lines. On the 3 night, the dress code for dinner was casual. Men wore mostly shorts to dinner. Castaway Cay was great, beach was spotless, lifeguards all over. The drinks served in the coconuts or bamboo cups were of the highest quality I have seen on any cruise. My favorite experience was the chocolates found at turndown service. Much more options for coke brand beverages than at Disney World. The Aqua duct was fantastic, so was the options for the kids. You distribute the tips yourself on the last evening which I have found to be the best way to get the best service.

Cons: The Spa was less than lackluster and I had no issue getting last minute appointments, since they were never busy. The spa staff was no different from other cruise lines, but I guess I did I expected more professionalism than what I experienced. The photograph store (not necessarily the actual photographers) was a clustered mess and clearly not enough "cast members" or in the least those that could communicate. This was where the most people lost their tempers or got pushy. Not a great set up, and other cruise lines are actually better organized when it comes to buying photos. The transfer to the port was a ridiculous set up and not only did we wait longer than the actual ride would take, we all were treated like Kindergarten children. There was nothing "magical" or "express" about the transfers, in fact, one bus driver made a comment I suspect would offend many people. The head waiter only showed up to the table on the last night to get his tip - but this is the same on each cruise.

Tips: Do not use Disney transfer. Instead rent a car and turn in at the port. It is cheaper and way FASTER. Inside rooms are often off main hall so you don't hear kids running the hallways. 1st dining group eats breakfast earlier on last morning (6:45am) and allows you to get disembark sooner (unless you want to carry your luggage off) or stay on the ship longer. Make or bring magnet items to decorate your door. About 50% or more of the stateroom doors had something on them. Souvenirs on the cruise ship were same price as what I found on land and most stock was exactly the same as what I found in the airport. The only speciality was anything that said Castaway Cay. Also, plan on putting down a deposit on your next cruise while on the ship to get 10% off and a reduced deposit, and know if or who you want listed as your travel agent for the next cruise (some offer extra perks).

Cabin Review

Deluxe Inside Stateroom

Cabin 10A

Huge cabin, looked brand new. Disney goes above and beyond from many other cruise lines. 2 clotheslines in the 2nd tub/sink area, split bathroom, higher bed for storage underneath, mini-cooler, built in nightlight, ice bucket/glasses stored in cabinet, curtain to separate the room, extremely quiet. Virtual porthole with animation, which was our favorite!

Port Reviews

Nassau

This port should be removed from all cruise lines itinerary. Very few people got off the ship here because of it being dirty, overpriced, horrible traffic. Most souvenirs are made in China (in the stores mostly). I would bet if Atlantis was not here, this would be skipped. 10 years ago, it was much better. This is the worst port I have been to in all my cruises.

Castaway Cay

Fantastic beach day. Sand was spotless, and so were the bathrooms. Plenty of bars, good food, lots of bars, lots to do. Water was clear. This has been my favorite beach I have ever been to.

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Not much to do here unless you drive to Orlando.
