I have been on many cruises and this one was one of the best, even though the final port call of Nassau I can do without. The ship is beautiful and the staff was top notch.
We stayed in the Haven Spa Suite and were treated exceptionally. In the Haven you have your own separate dining facility and get the same wait staff each meal. You also get your own pool and lounge area. (In fact the pool is covered with a retractably roof that closing when it rains). With the spa suite, you get access to the spa pools and each of the therapy rooms, including the snow room. We had the dinner package and used it to go to Cagneys (great steak), Le Bistro (excellent) and Bayamo, which I did not care for because the food seemed more like art than a meal, but some people may like that. When we did eat at the Haven restaurant I can vouch for the sea bass, the short ribs, the duck and the prime rib, all of which came out hot and had great taste. Appetizers that we tried included the boulebaise, pork belly, and the beet and goat cheese salad which again did not disappoint.
The Haven cabin has a very spacious shower, a king sized bed, a jaccuzzi tub and plenty of storage for your clothes. We had a 24 hour butler, which we asked to help us with reservations, breakfast in the room every day, lunch snacks and anything else we needed including finding some bug spray for our hike. We took the Eco Tour in St. Johns which is an excellent excursion and the Virgin Gorda excursion at the Tortola Port, which was excellent. The 15 minute walk back from Devils Bay Beach to the parking lot in Virgin Gorda was admittedly a harder hike than the hike in St. John. The water is outrageous, turquiose and warm.
Clean spacious and comfortable.Best cabin I have ever been in.
Nassau is old and tired. Atlantis is a rip off. Bay street and surrounding areas is nothing but harrassment from taxis, hair braiders and shop owners. the port needs some serious updating. I would most likely avoid a cruise in the future if it ports in Nassau
Good port to leave from.
