We sailed out of New Orleans on the Carnival Triumph. We had FTTF and the embarkation process went super smoothly for us. Our luggage was waiting at our door as soon as we boarded and went directly to our room which also was ready. Carnival Triumph is an older ship and probably could use some sprucing up, but nothing compares to the excellent staff working in all areas of the ship. Specifically, service was excellent by our dining team (Made, Bertold, and Anthony). I really don't understand what the complaints are with regards to American Table. The food selection was quite good, and there wasn't one thing we ordered that we didn't think was excellent. Also, for those that have an issue with sliding glasses and water droplets on the table because of a lack of tablecloths, it wasn't a concern for us and have a hard time understanding how a lack of a tablecloth can turn so many people off. In addition, our stateroom steward, Fandy, and his team pampered us the entire week. Despite what some people would want others to believe, we had no trouble requesting twice a day service, and Fandy made sure our cooler had ice in it at all times.

Jess, from the US, the cruise director for the week was super and her voice was clear to understand. She is also quite funny. Her MC of the Love and Marriage show was hysterical.

We went to several of the comedy shows during the week. I would highly recommend for people to heed the warning regarding not attending if you're easily offended. We thought they were quite funny but can understand how some of the content might not be for everyone. Also, parents should please keep their children away from the 18+ shows. It's just not fair to the comedians to have to worry about the content of their jokes if there are children in the audience. The jokes get quite raunchy at times, and I can't imagine jokes sexual in nature not embarrassing a mother (or grandmother) sitting with their 16-year-old son (grandson).

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Cabin 6B

The cabin is typical of all other Carnival cabins. In fact, they all seem identical to us. The only differences we noticed this time is the very, very outdated hair dryer in the bathroom. Also, this room doesn't have a refrigerator.
