The ship is clean and well loved by its keepers. Because the ship does not have a casino and as a result of reading poor food and entertainment reviews, my thought was to book this cruise as a floating hotel to reach all of the important Islands. Which it did..and you will love that experience. But, in fairness I was also pleasantly surprised by the entertainment and food. The shows were good and so was the food. After a bad experience in the dining room we decided to eat at the buffet. It was good you can also take your bottle of wine. And they let you eat in the Saloon next-door you can watch TV (sports) and have draft beer or drinks served to your table. Otherwise, If you prefer to eat in the dining room ask for Charles at table #1.
Book a cabin on the right to view the Lava Flow after you sail from Hilo. Or, Book a cabin on the left side to see the Napaili Coast sail by. This is a good way to visit multiple islands. You don't need a rental car in Honolulu - use Uber. You can rent a car in Maui and drive the Road to Hana on your own. Dinner at Mary's Fish House that night is worth the price. In Hilo, take the rental car shuttle to pick up your car across from Blue Hawaiian Helicopter Tours. Take their Helicopter tour and jump into your rental and drive to Volcanoes National Park. No car is needed in Kana (tendered) to stroll shops, restaurants and beaches for a relaxing day. Kaui is more beautiful than the pictures and you don't need a rental car to get to Blue Hawaiian Helicopters - they do a fabulous tour of the entire island. If you do get a car drive to Hee Fat for amazing shaved ice and affordable souvenirs. Norwegian offers a bus tour from the port that includes Pearl Harbor and airport drop off that is well worth the price.
Although small the Cabin had storage for everything. The pillows leave a lot to be desired. We bought pillows at Costco (next to Kmart) in Maui and carried them on board.
