We chose this as an experimental taster first sea cruise - we've been on a couple of river cruises with Viking.
Both embarkation and disembarkation were smooth and trouble-free.
Ship is described as mid-sized. To us it was enormous. We really could have done with some sort of induction, because it took us a few days on a 7 day cruise to find our way around. However, the facilities on board were first-class. The Curzon Theatre is the equal of any London theatre I have been in. Bars galore and reasonable prices for drinks. Plenty to do in the evening. I did feel at times as if we were on an upmarket floating holiday camp, but the entertainment was very much at the upper end.
No problems at all here - roomy and comfortable. Shows its age a little, but no complaints. Cabin steward excellent.
Great. Up on the funicular to get some terrific views of Bergen.
Lovely spot, if not exactly lively. The Briksdjal glacier is absolutely stunning - a must-see.
Didn't walk round Stavanger, although it looks interesting, but we took a lovely trip up the Lysefjord, enjoyed some wonderful scenery and saw the Pulpit Rock inter alia. Well worth it.
Parking remarkably easy (although I'd pre-booked it). Easy journey down there (down the A34 rather than the M1/M25/M3 route - good decision as it turned out). Embarkation and disembarkation smooth as silk. Great signage.
