Hello interwebs,
I hope this review will help qualm any fears you may have about cruising on the MSC Divina. A little about me so that you may relate or at least know where I am coming from. I am not your basic American traveler. I have lived all over the world and even met my wife abroad. I am of average economic means. By this I mean when I go on vacation value is more important to me then having the best, finest, or most expensive vacation. I will not pick the cheapest option just because it is cheap, but I want to make sure my money is used in a good value. My wife is from Russia so her tastes sometimes are different from mine, but on this vacation we agreed 100% on it. This was my 3rd cruise. I have been on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and now MSC. So now onto the trip.
If you are interested on going on the MSC Divina like me your are probably skeptical because a number of factors. Before I booked this cruise I looked at other reviewers, where the ship will embark, and my perceived value of the cruise (meaning taking in factors like cost of extras, length, etc). We booked our cruise 6 months in advance in order to take advantage of paying of things little by little. Also there was a buy 1 get 1 cruise deal for a balcony they were offering at the time we looked. We looked at other cruise lines of course but for the bang for our buck we decided on MSC. Getting a balcony at that price was the way to go in my mind. Also for that price we were able to go on a relatively new ship. I have been on older ships that were alot more expensive and they did not compare to MSC. You could see and feel that the ship was new and was vigorously maintained. So for what we paid for just the balcony the ship it was a steal.
The cabin was great. We were never in it anyway, but we liked being able to be on the balcony and watch the ship sail. I would upgrade to the Fantastic package next time.
