Never wanted to go on a cruise. We like to do our own thing when travelling. Amsterdam to Budapest however sounded interesting and the Emerald Sun looked good. We loved it. You can join in or be by yourself. No pressure on the shore excursions and enough on board information that you can go it alone. Time enough at every port of call.

The staff were wonderful. Helpful, entertaining and very friendly. Have some great photographic memories of late nights at the bar. Buy a drinks package. Met a couple of interesting characters travelling by themselves and we all became good friends.

We used the cruise as part of a months travel and we spent three days each in Budapest, Vienna, Prague, Belin and Brussels on our way home to Edinburgh. Read more
