Having been satisfied with our first cruise to Mexico with Royal Caribbean we flew from the UK to Tampa to join another RCIU cruise - to the Eastern Caribbean. We stayed overnight at the Embassy Suites hotel and found it excellent value for money with a suite and full breakfast included in the price.  Embarkation went smoothly - and didn't take too long despite long queues when we arrived. Our stateroom was quite acceptable  though the bathroom was tiny'  Our one comment is that the mattresses are too firm and no toppers were available for those with bad backs !  But our maid happily provided four extra pillows for me to sleep on.

We chose the same ship for our second cruise, Grandeur of the Seas, because though one of the older vessels we found it to be elegant and spotlessly clean.  There were plenty of lounges and quiet spots and it was always easy to find a seat or a lounger. The ship was full but never seemed overcrowded.  There were enough activities on board to suit our tastes - we are seniors and not really into hectic sports or swimming!

On our first cruise we enjoyed films also.  We used the library a lot too.

Cabin Review

Cabin was adequate but the 'bathroom' was tiny. Worst problem was very hard mattress and not toppers available. Had to use 4 extra pillows to sleep on.
