We just got back from our cruise to the Caribbean. We were on the Conquest by Carnival. Prior to our sailing, I reviewed the latest reviews not only about the ship but also cruise line. I have to tell you that none of what I experienced happened like the previous 4 cruisers. The ship, while old, was terrific. Our cabin steward, Indrahan, was great and we had zero bad things to say about him and his partner. The food was excellent, especially feeding 3200+ cruisers at dinner time. Great choices in foods both vegan and regular. They even had a big book of "Gluten free" covering apetizers to desserts, for those "Gluten free people". Those special little people! Sorry, let me get back to the review; Our dinner steward, Supartha, did an outstanding job of servicing the 4 of us. We had another couple join us from San Diego who had never been on a cruise before. I was told by both that this trip far exceeded their expectations. Plenty of things to do on board, especially those "fun day at sea" days!! Being a veteran, there was special mention and meeting for all vets from all eras. That was particularly impressive and
Embarkation: Very easy; we probably waited in moving lines for about 20-25 minutes until we got on board.
Cabin: we had a wrap-around balcony on the 8th deck, 8455. We normally have the aft-facing balconies but want to try this one on this trip. Our friends had a similar cabin that we will definately try on our next cruise next May, Cabin 6483. The layout was perfect with lots of room and the bed was positioned in such a way that all you had to do was to roll over and look out the window. Our cabin was not quite as roomy. We did not do much of the shows as we usually do not. We had late dining so we did not want to get to bed after midnight.
Cabin was very nice and the wrap around deck was even nicer. We usually get the aft-view extended balcony, but wanted to try this slightly larger cabin. Everything was there and in perfect working order. Absolutely no complaints, like I read before we took our trip. i guess there will always be those "perfect humans" demanding perfect service. Mostly malcontents and there were some on board. Never happy with anything. Next trip we are getting same category but different cabin.
What can I say, Ft Laderdale is in Florida!!
