My husband and I cruised to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. It was our first vacation without children in 16 years so we were looking to relax and spend some quality time together. We stayed in Miami the night before to insure we were at the ship in time in case of any delays and it worked out great. My tip--I used Instacart for the first time and had a bottle of champagne delivered (for free) from Total Wine to our hotel. I paid the $15 corkage fee once we got onboard and it was still $30 less than the cost of the same bottle of champagne on board. We took it to the Wine Cellar and they iced it down while we enjoyed it
We picked this cruise for it's variety of activities and the ports of call and were not disappointed. We got the Thermal Spa pass for the week and were delighted. It was wonderful and oh so relaxing. The heated chairs with a panoramic view were to die for. The thermal pool was never crowded, nor was the whirlpool or the saunas.
We did not utilize the pool on deck 16 or the h20 whirlpools as they were loud, crowded and too sunny. There was a great grotto on the h20 deck that was shaded and much quieter that was quite nice. We did find seating on the Waterfront decks to sit and relax. The Tasting Room (wine bar) was a great find and never crowded unless they had a wine tasting event going on.
Roomier than expected. The balcony was great but I would recommend choosing a cabin one room further forward. Our balcony and the one just aft of us was slanted as they were the first larger balconies. It didn't crimp the space really but it did give a view of the deck below and exposed your nighttime view to more lighting from the decks from the side view. Moving up just one more cabin would have prevented this and given just a little better view, less light and slightly better privacy. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bed linens were clean and comfy.
