Well we just returned from our 9/10/16 departure from San Juan Royal Caribbean Adventure of the Seas cruise,,,it was the most disappointing cruise I've ever taken...until this cruise, we have ALWAYS bragged on Royal Caribbean, but no longer. Let me first say the food, dining staff and room attendants were great..other than that....where to start.
Day 1: Our stateroom AC was not working and the safe would not unlock after securing all our valuables. Called immediately (about 2pm) and was told they would have tech come investigate the AC, but we would have to be in the room for security to come look at the safe..we unpacked, went to dinner and upon return (about 8:30pm) there was a note on the bed saying the flushed the ac and changed the filter, but it was still not working. We then called again to complain about the AC and told them we were ready to have security come and fix the safe. At this time I requested a room change and was told "we are full and have no available rooms". Well, security didn't show until 11:30pm, so we wasted our entire first night of activities and spending quality time with the 5 couple friends we were vacationing with. The next AC tech didn't show up until 2:30AM and was still unable to fix the issue. So now we are HOT, have not slept and have not enjoyed our first night of activities...HORRIBLE DAY 1.
Day 2: I'm awakened by guest services calling to tell me they still have not rectified the AC issue....really?..the puddle of sweat on my sheets could have told you that..anyway, we left for the day and upon return from a day of play (about 4:30pm) was told we would now be moving to another stateroom. I asked, "why could we not move yesterday upon my initial request" and was told by guest services, "I don't have an answer for that"...now it it formal night, so we dressed and right after dinner left all the activities and photo opportunities to spend 2 hours moving to our new stateroom that was further from the elevator, away from our friends and honestly the room was a bit cooler but nothing like our friends in other rooms. So now evening 2 has been wasted with the move...oh and their idea of "we'll take care of the move for you" was a stateroom attendant who brought 1 rolling luggage cart and stood outside and put our bags on the cart...really???
