We were looking for a last minute value priced cruise before school started back up. Have been wanting to sail from New Orleans for a while so when the dates lined up this cruise seemed perfect. We knew going into this that the ship was a bit older and reviews were not the best so went into the trip with very low expectations. Unfortunately even with low expectations we were left very disappointed. This was my 9th cruise and have never experience such rude staff on a ship.
Embarkation and Disembarkation might have been the only part of the trip that went well. We drove to New Orleans and found the parking on site to be fabulous. Suitcases taken right from car, park in a covered garage and take an elevator right to the terminal. Staff at terminal were friendly and helpful. No problems until we entered the ship.
Guest services, we had to contact them frequently with different issues. The first few days they had a long line and no answer on phone. Clearly we were not the only people with issues. Also through our many encounters began to find that everyone gave you a different answer and no one took responsibility for anything.
Cabin and balcony were good comparable to other OS size and Decoration from other ships. Room definitely had some room for repair. For example the closet door were broken and there was mold in bathroom. Our air-conditioning was not working for the first 6-7 hours we were on ship which made for very sweaty unpacking in August. To add to our frustrations, our room steward spoke so little English that when we spoke to him about the air, and lack of water pressure in bathroom, and non-functioning cable on the tv, he never understood what we were saying so nothing was fixed without us contacting guest services.
Best embarkation and debarkation process we have ever had.
Mr. Sanchos is always a good time!
