We (wife and I) are Celebrity loyalists - elite in Captain's club. This cruise - Adriatic and Italy - was our tenth on Celebrity after a break of four years. Our first was in 1972 on Galaxy.

Celebrity had a well-deserved reputation of offering medium price cruises but well above average in dining and service.

No longer. The menu in the main dining room has been reduced from five to three courses, the first labeled as 'starters'! The menu was rarely better than downtown hotel standard. The quality was variable - they are certainly no longer buying the best meat. The main dining room should be 'fine dining': steak and chips might be found in a road side diner but not appropriate here Deserts down to a choice of two very non-descript items - I fully expected to see carrot cake and brownies one night.
