My family and friends (12 total) decided last year to book an Alaskan Cruise out of Seattle about 12 months out. Just a quick background, my wife and I have been on about 20 cruises on Carnival, Norwegian, Disney, and Royal Caribbean, and have had cabins of all types with the exception of the Suites, so I feel this is a pretty fair evaluation of the horrible cruise. We live in Florida, so we had to fly cross country for the trip. After arriving in Seattle we stayed a couple days downtown and did "touristy" things.

On the 28th we went to the NCL Terminal. Boarding was pretty smooth. Since we had an Aft Balcony on the 11th deck, our room was ready fairly quickly. Here's the low-lights of the ship. The crew acted as if they just didn't want to be there. Zero customer service. The "bands" and I use the word loosely, were the same couple of people over and over in different locations. The Karaoke was the worst I've ever seen/heard. Very disorganized. Comedy Shows were fair at best (juggler/comedian). The Ships Shows were pitiful, the worst we've ever seen.

The food staff was going through the motions, but didn't appear to be too excited about their jobs. The food showed it too. By far the worst meals we've ever had on a Cruise. I ordered a lobster with my meal one night, and I swear to you, once I took the lobster out of the shell, there was two small bits of lobster, and the cost - $30 extra. The daily activities were just about the same - lame.

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Balcony

Smaller than your average balcony, and definitely not worth the extra money. This was the first time I've ever cruised that the room steward didn't introduce themselves and check to see if we needed anything.

Port Reviews

Glacier Bay

Disappointed at seeing only one glacier

Skagway

Typical cruise port, nothing really out of the ordinary. I was expecting a lot of local type shops, but the majority of what was being sold had "Made in China" stickers on it.
