Sail Date: Sep 2016
Cabin: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Large Balcony

We previously sailed on Explorer and Freedom class ships. Because of the hype about the Oasis class, we decided to book in February. The ship is very big, however, fairly easy to get around and with the number of people, there was really no problem until it came time to eat or see a show, then, unless you had reservations, you still needed to get in place 45 minutes before starting time to get a decent seat.

Dining was our biggest disappointment. The wait staff seemed to be overworked and had too many guests which caused lengthy waiting between courses and the food was not up to standards we had experienced on other RC ships. The speciality restaurants were better but all were small. We ate Italian, Japanese and Steak. Chops was head and shoulders better than the other two. We are Platinum Crown and Anchor members, but did not get the promised bath robes or lapel pins and our state room phone was not working and it took until the last day for a cord to be replaced.

It sounds like we only have complaints, but the cruise was very enjoyable. We enjoyed the different areas of the ship (Boardwalk and Central Park). We had purchased a soft drink package, but there are only three places on the ship to get a refill and the machines were constantly out of ice or were broken.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Large Balcony

Cabin D1

AC unit worked very well, seemed to have more storage space, though the closet was harder to get to because of the position of the bed. There was 3 outlets on top of the counter area but none in the bathroom. The bathroom light stayed on (dimmer, but annoying when trying to sleep). The bed was very comfortable and the room attendant was very good.
