Having very recently completed a cruise on the MSC Presioza, I feel compelled to write a review because I read so many negative ones prior to booking mine, that I was somewhat apprehensive about my choice. But I just have to say the cruise was excellent and I have very few negative things to say about my experience, if any. So here are the pros and cons:
Cons:
Internet is very expensive! I bought a day pass (22 euros/340Mb) and somehow just checking my emails my allotted data ran out in less than 2 hours. So of course this was a nuisance and I found myself checking emails and working at internet cafes while on land (not the way I had planned on spending my limited time at the various ports). So if Internet is important to you, this should be a big factor to consider.
Just a note that this port is over an hour commute from Rome International airport (fumicino). So if you're flying in to Rome, account for getting to Civitavecchia. There are tons of companies that offer shuttle bus services or private transfers.
Walked around the city, took a local bus to the beach. Beautiful
Just walk around the city. Beach is also nice in Valencia - very close to where the ship docks. Take a taxi once you get off the ship.
A long walk to the bus terminal outside the cruise ship. We walked it but it's long in the heat. I recommend booking the shuttle directly with the cruise ship. City is nice. Walk through the streets, go to the cathedral on top of the hill. You can book everything in the city.
Loved Genoa. Just walk through all the tiny streets and explore. Have lunch shoreside. Beautiful.
