We just returned from a cruise on the Celebrity Solstice. We thought the ship was amazing. It was clean, the rooms were very comfortable and there was ample room in the bathroom, and we loved having a balcony to see all the amazing scenery. I enjoyed the Casino slot machines and the nightly entertainment. We stayed on the 10th floor by the the Library which I thought I would enjoy but I had very little time to just sit and read.

We enjoyed all the ports but would recommend doing excursions as the first 3 ports did not have much in the way of tourism except trinket shops. The glacier experience was our favorite day and especially as it was narrated Brent Nixon who was excellent. He did several talks on whales, eagles and other wildlife. His talks were very informative and entertaining. Also his wife Mrs Amanda talked about the local history at each port. I would definitely go on any cruise that they were on as I love history and learning about the environment.

Cabin 1C

Loved our room. Beds were very comfortable. We could watch US Open tennis in our room and most sports channels. The bathroom was roomy and the veranda was our favorite part of the cruise. Of course the scenery is the best part of the Alaskan cruise

Port Reviews

Seattle

We spent 1 full day in Seattle. Toured winery and visited Pikes market. Stayed in an Air BNB which was fabulous with full rooftop views of the city.

Juneau

Saw lots of whales some were very close to the ship. The buffet on the ship was also very good

Skagway

Train and Bike: Train ride had amazing views and interesting history. I was a little nervous riding bikes down the highway as it was sleeting at the top and I could not see. They had a van following us so always felt safe and I did opt a van ride half way through. So impressed with all the guides on this and other excursions

Victoria

Beautiful city and a place a could spend a month visiting. We did not do the gardens but there were gardens everywhere and so much to see and do in this city. I sure wish we had more time at this city as we were only here a few hours and at night.
