I was very impressed by how smoothly embarkation at Southampton went, we were on Navigator within 30 minutes.
I had never cruised with RC before, previously I'd used Celebrity, however I chose RC for the ports they were visiting.
I found the ship extremely busy, especially Windjammer, it didn't matter what time of the day I visited finding a table was very difficult if not impossible on some occasions. You definately had to find a table and leave someone sitting there whilst selecting your food. Most of the tables needed a good clean and we never sat at a table that didn't have food on the floor underneath the table, we weren't impressed and tried other places to eat rather than use Windjammer. There was a large selection of food but the same or very similar food appeared everyday. My tip would be to have your breakfast, lunch & dinner in The Sapphire Dining Room, much more civilised. However the food was dissapointing, more pub food than fine dining. I wouldn't expect to find pies, fish & chips & quiche on the menu in MDR.
Cabin was what I expected, the storage was plentiful and the lighting excellent.
There were no free films on TV, only pay to view.
The furniture in the room (sofa and dressing table chair) were very badly stained and we always used towels on the furniture.
The bathroom was adequate, but the mirrors had "rust" all around the edges and should have been replaced.
The steward kept the cabins clean and came in twice a day and left an assortment of towel animals.
