We chose this cruise because of the destination. We wanted to cruise the British Isles
We stayed in balcony cabin R703. The cabin was very nice. I liked being up high. One floor down from the buffets so that was very nice. We were close to the stairs and elevator. Was worried about noise but was never bothered by any. It was nice to be close to both. Our cabin steward, Thomas, was great. The food in the dining room was excellent. I didn't like much of the food on the buffets, but my husband enjoyed all of the fish selections. Entertainment for the most part was good. I liked all of the guest entertainers but thought the performances by the ships singers was just okay. The sound was turned up too loud and made it seem that the singers were yelling. Service on board was very good. Ports were good but was disappointed that we had to pay for buses to take us into town when the ship docked in ports away from town. It would be better to pay more for the cruise and have the buses included in fair.
Our cabin was very nice. Liked the location. There was some rocking but I wasn't bothered because I wore a patch.
We missed our excursion because we got separated on the ship and did not get a tender in time. We walked around the town.
We rode the train into Cork and then did a hop on hop off tour. Enjoyed seeing the sights.
We took a train into Glasgow.. We did the hop on hop off tour. Great way to get a feel for the city.
We took the ship's bus into town and then did the hop on hop off tour. We got to see all of the high points. Enjoyed a stop at a pub recommended by our bus tour guide.
We did not spend any time in Southampton.
