This was our 4th cruise with Carnival and by far the worst. The destination was fantastic though. Alaska is beautiful and this was our first time visiting. The cruise itself was the problem. We have always had good to great food in the dining room. Im not sure what happened but of the seven nights at least two were inedible. We have never been fans of the buffet as, well its a buffet. The food is always mass produced and not good. This ship was no exception. I dont think we had one good meal the whole seven days.
This ship is aging and it shows. Its desperately in need of an over haul. In fact on the forth day of our cruise we got notice that they would be replacing the carpet in our state room. Seriously? NO! They wanted us to put all of our belongings in the bathroom! Right there thats a no. Secondly can you imagine the smell of the adhesive? In that little cabin? NO! We told them under no circumstances were they to change the carpet in our stateroom. Thankfully they did not. Our stateroom steward did the bare minimum to get by. It was sufficient but not great.
One of the bright spots was the behind the fun tour. It was enjoyable and we got personalized service and gifts from every department we visited. Very interesting and fun. This is probably the one aspect of this cruise that I would recommend, however its not worth taking the entire cruise for.
Very aged and not very clean. Our cabin steward did the bare minimum to get by. The location however was fantastic for seeing Alaska and cruising through the fjords.
Seattle is fantastic. Lots to do and great food. Arrive a few days early and have some fun here.
Toured the city on our own. Did some shopping and found some end of season bargains.
