This cruise was a mixed bag. Lots of things we enjoyed and lots of things we did not.
Our best excursion was a St. Petersburg private tour with Lentina Travel which we booked long ago. The Celebrity cruises were mixed: Oslo, Aarhus...poor. Copenhagen, Stockholm excellent. Helsinki had to be cancelled because of heavy winds. We all hoped that would mean another day in St. Petersburg but unfortunately the Russian customs would not allow it so we all remained on board. There was a quick revamping and adding of things to do which helped pass the time.
Some things on the Silhouette are as good as they have ever been - such as Blu and the Aqua Spa...others like the non-primary entertainment was not. We also found the after the excursion shopping to be less than adequate. Many days they took out the exact same souvenirs and items they had on the first days.
Some things have changed in the Aqua class cabin amenities...namely we used to be entitled to bottled water delivered every day and now it's only the first day. You have to get the daily water just before you take an excursion.
Also, every time I asked for something from our cabin attendant, i felt like i was asking for the moon. Needless to say, he did not get an extra tip at the end...some of the servers in Blu did as they went above and beyond even when we were in the cate restaurant.
Amsterdam is wonderful as long as you realize you take your life in your hands every time you step out. There are bikes everywhere and THEY DO NO YIELD to pedestrians. Despite that...it is an amazing city, not to be missed...just to use extra caution.
