We had an inside cabin for the first time, previously on other cruises we've always had a balcony. The cabin was ok, if a little cramped, but as usual with P&O there was plenty to do on the ship on sea days, and we spent a lot of time at port culminating in seeing the Northern lights whilst in Alta. An amazing spectacle and well worth the journey. A balcony would have been wasted given the bad weather we encountered at sea on the return, (which caused the ship's itinerary to be changed, dropping the scheduled stop at Stavanger). However, the adjacent inside cabin was in lockdown most of the cruise due to passenger illness, and we were worried it might have spread to us, in which case being stuck inside would have been a complete disaster! I don't think we'll risk an inside cabin again on future cruises.
We found the restaurants and food on the Oriana were good, although as with many P&O cruise ships we would prefer there was less emphasis on curries. Entertainment was to P&O's usual high standards, with excellent performances by the ship's 'Headliners' dance and singing team. We will certainly cruise with P&O again.
