Sailed on the Equinox out of Civitavecchia on a 9 day cruise. State room attendants were excellent, stayed out of the way and put up with our late morning starts but were always there when we needed them.

MDR service and food was excellent. We didn't like our first table assignment and the maitre d immediately accommodated our request to change and put us in a great location. He was terrific (a great guy from Turkey...forgot his name...), we had a running joke for the length of the cruise, I looked forward to seeing him each evening. Wait staff was also excellent. We tried Sushi on 5 (I think that is the name). It was just okay, much prefer Silk Harvest. We only had dinners at the MDR and the Oceanview. Oceanview food was also very good, the two dinners we had there had great variety and the food at the grill was great. Breakfast at the Oceanview is always hectic but we always found a seat. Best thing about the drink package is the Cafe al Bacio, love the coffee there. Staff there is a tad uptight but its a busy place and maybe they sample too much of their product.....

We spent a fair amount of time at the martini bar, the premium drink package helps..... It was the place to be on the cruise at night so at times you had to be patient for a drink. You no longer have to sign your bill if you are on a drink package, I used to tip a little extra but can't do that anymore.
