I've sailed with Royal Caribbean numerous times and this is the first time I have been totally disappointed. The food service was the worst. Hot dishes were at best lukewarm and sometime cold. Nothing quite as bad as cold, greasy, lintel soup. The hamburgers in the Windjammer were not edible. Not sure how long they had been cooked but they were tasteless globs. I would think it would take some real effort to screw up a hamburger but it seems they can.

Chops Grill has really lowered their food standards. They still have the standard $35/person charge but to get a good steak you are looking at $19 additional and for a lobster $21 extra. On other RC ships a Prime Rib had been offered, but no longer, I choose a NY Strip. I ordered it medium and what I got was burned on the outside and almost raw in the middle. Looked like the whole bit had been rushed. Steak had very little taste and was not tender. Wait staff was nice but there wasn't much they could do if the kitchen wasn't putting out a good product.

Customer Service was not the best. I received a written notice that I had received a $25 on board credit, when I had documentation that the amount was $225. When I went to customer service with my documentation the answer was "$25 is all that is showing." When I pushed a bit harder the agent said, "i'll call your travel agent and let them tell you." TA was called and I told my agent what had occurred. She assured me that the amount was $225. and I asked her to tell that to the customer service person. After she spoke to him he very curtly told me that the credit hadn't shown up but he had found them. Never a kind word and better yet, I never received a written notice of the correct amount. When I got my final bill the correct amount did show. I still wonder why the customer agent couldn't be pleasant and offered to look into the matter rather than acting like I was trying to misrepresent the facts. Read more
