We chose to take this cruise because we were going to Fairbanks, AK to visit our nephew. It was a pleasant, relaxing way to travel. The food was good, as usual and we found a waiter, Robert, from Romania, who made our mealtimes enjoyable. The ship's captain, Michele Tuvo is absolutely outstanding. Very personable, excellent sense of humor, frequently out and about, friendly to passengers and crew alike -- an excellent ambassador for Princess. We enjoyed one of the comedians, passed on the production shows because we've seen them on other cruises. We don't normally take 7 night cruises but this was an exception. Isla, the Captain's Circle person, is also a gem. We loved visiting with her and hope to meet her again on a future cruise. The Stars Princess is a very comfortable ship and we look forward to sailing on her again in January 2017 on the round-trip Hawaii out of San Pedro, CA.

Just what we expected.

Port Reviews

Vancouver

We arrived by Amtrak from Seattle and spent one night at the YWCA Hotel. Excellent value. It was easy to get from the train station to near the hotel by light rail and again the next morning to get to Canada Place from the hotel using the light rail.

Ketchikan

Stayed in board because it was raining.

Juneau

It was very windy and partly cloudy so again stayed on board to read, relax and knit.
