All in all we had a great cruise. It was our first time with Celebrity. We chose this cruise for its length and for the itinerary and we were fully satisfied.

The best things about this cruise were:

- modern ship

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah 1B

Cabin 1B

We were impressed by the size of the stateroom and of the balcony, much bigger than the ones on other cruise lines. The closet space was fairly big but we lacked space in the drawers (only 3 of them). However we managed to store everything, also using the storage space in the bathroom for our shoes. Cleaning was maybe not as perfect as we expected: our cabin attendant was a very young boy, very friendly but it really showed that was not his ideal job.

Port Reviews

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Civitavecchia port is a mess! Take this into account when you desembark. The public bus runs every minutes and you have to wait in line under the sun and load your suitcases by yourself. If you have to reach the train station, from the exit of the port you need to take another bus. No taxis are allowed inside the port unless you have booked them in advance: next time, I will make a reservation and avoid the hassle - it took us 90 minutes from the moment we exited the ship to the moment we entered the station.

Taormina (Messina)

We booked a private excursion to Taormina and Castelmola with Sicily Limousine Service. Worth every cent as the driver was very professional and knowledgeable and we could visit at our own pace.

Kusadasi

We had visited Efesus already (which is one of the best archeological sites ever seen!), so given the political situation in Turkey we decided to stay onboard and enjoy a relaxing day.

Santorini

Having been to Santorini already, we decided to take a walk from Fira to Imerovigli: great view on the caldera away from the tourist mass.

Yet, the queue to go up and down with the cable car were terrible: 40 minutes on the way up and almost one hour on the way back.

Athens (Piraeus)

Having seen Athens several times already, we stayed onboard.

Naples

Visited Capri on our own by public ferry, boat and cable car. Wonderful place!
