Sailing on Anthem of the Seas was a bucket list item for us, due to the much different layout of the ship than we have been used to with the Oasis, Freedom, and Voyager class ships that RCI sails. The ship is a wonderful ship..Technology(Royal IQ) worked nicely for us. It is nicely done in the venues. and offers a great many places to enjoy yourself, whatever is to your liking.... I would say, however, that our personal preferences will still be the format and services of the Oasis class ships over the Quantum class.... We like the open and wide promenade that Anthem did not have...it has a winding Esplanade that did not handle the foot traffic as well as the promenade...The dining reservation system in the "four" main included dining rooms was very inflexible...People should always book their dining reservations in advance, well in advance...and don't think that you can change them on a dime without having to eat at 9:00pm ... They fill up and stay filled up during most desired hours. The bed was hard as a rock...never had a bed quite that firm....But, we enjoyed it overall, and especially the maiden voyage of Anthem into New England and Canada! The North Star AND the RIPCORD were GREAT! I WOULD definitely recommend Anthem as a choice...The only caveat is that service in dining sometimes was slow, but everyone was working as fast as they could go..Chops Grille had very good waiters, but had to do everything...RCI staffing issue in this one...A waiter can't be cleaning tables, taking orders, running food without ANY help with multiple tables...Our waiter was very good, just completely on his own...He couldn't have gone much faster! Minor hiccups aside, if you're thinking about ANTHEM and New England+Canada, Just DO IT!
