Monday when we boarded it was actually kind of easy and only took about an hour. When we went on the Conquest in 2007 it took over 2 hours to board. So basically the 1 hour boarding time was the best part of the cruise (besides the people we ate with). We set sail that evening some time and instantly the boat was rocking ALOT! I cant remember if it was Monday or Tuesday but the first show sucked. Pretty much it was downhill from there. The only entertainment we enjoyed was the comedian on Thursday. On Tuesday they announced that we would not be going to Mexico and they were looking into other stops but never said anything else. Basically we were on a rocking boat to nowhere for 5 days and the only fun we had was eating dinner with the other couples at our table. The Captain never showed up at the Captains party or the return cruisers party. I think he was scared and stayed on the bridge the entire time to avoid angry cruisers. We tried going to the spa and they were rude and unhelpful. The only time they even tried to help us was when they offered us a discount on a couples massage because someone canceled. It was at 8 am and there is no way we were waking up that early for a massage. We did go to the couples massage workshop though and they show us how to give each other decent back massages. That was actually worth the $61.Thursday was my wife's birthday and not only did she not get to go swimming with the dolphins for her birthday like she wanted but they screwed up at dinner and never even acknowledged it was her birthday. In fact they brought a slice of cake to a girl that wasn't at our table one day and it wasn't even her birthday. So now we have a ruined cruise and birthday. Most of the time we went out on the back deck and read or napped. Then we got up and ate. We returned to Galveston on Friday evening instead of Saturday morning due to a sick person on board. So basically we went on a 4.5 day cruise to nowhere at the price of a 5 day cruise to 2 ports in Mexico. Upon our arrival we were told that the next cruise out that was the same itinerary as ours had been changed to a 7 day cruise to Montego Bay and Grand Cayman. I called Carnival and was told that there is no compensation at all for our cruise.I emailed the CEO and he had someone call me to basically tell me the same thing, no compensation.  So I get stuck on a ship with no choice but to sit there for 4.5 days and return early for the price of a 5 day cruise with 2 stops to mexico while the people over the next 3-4 weeks get either a full refund or they get to reschedule or they get a 7 day to somewhere nice.I know people whose cruise gets diverted or something due to hurricanes get some sort of compensation.  To me this is just wrong.  I would rather take the chances in Mexico on the coast where there is no reported cases of the swine flu than sit in the gulf then be returned to Texas where there have already be many reported cases. Why did I pay all that money to go nowhere? Not sure.Would I use Carnival again? Not if this is the way they treat return guests.Would I recommend Carnival to others? NO! I recommend paying a little more to get better customer service from another cruise line like Royal Caribbean!
